COMMITTEES
All current, active paid members of the Chapter are eligible to serve on a committee. Additional criteria may be required for some committees. Most committee deliberations are accomplished by phone, fax, or email, with the exception of the Audit Committee and the Budget Committee.
All Chairs are designated by the Chapter President. Membership requirements, if any, are listed below with the descriptions.
Ad Hoc Committee - Policy Manual
Review and Update the Manual
Athenian Dialouge Committee
Plans Athenian Dialouge hosted by the Chapter (usually held in January)
Audit Committee
Reviews the Chapter's bank account(s) annually during the month of November. Their findings shall be reported to the membership at the February meeting.
ByLaw Committee
Reviews and recommends amendments to the membership in odd numbered years.
Holiday Celebration Committee
Plan, coordinate and host holiday program held in December.
Legislative Committee
Convenes during legislative years (odd). Reports and presents significant bill changes to the membership.
Membership Committee
Maintains communication with members regarding matters of interest and importance and develops a program to increase and maintain membership.
Newsletter Committee
Nominating Committee
Comprised of Immediate Past President and two members; Nominates officers for consideration by the membership for the upcoming year. Nominates officers for consideration by the membership for the upcoming year.
Records Management Workshop
Plans Records Workshop held in odd years.
Scholarship Committee
Reviews applications and approves or denies the requests as well as coordinates fundraising efforts to fund upcoming scholarships.
Technology/Website Committee
Reviews, recommends changes; Maintains Lone Star Chapter website and any social media accounts.
